Dear Users,

This message is to remind you that Med Advent has a maintenance window scheduled for this weekend, Saturday, May 10, 2014 starting at 11 pm EDT through Sunday, May 11, 2014, 3 am EDT.

During this maintenance window, the Med Advent application will not be available for use.

All claims scheduled to send to the clearinghouse on Saturday, May 10, 2014, will be processed and submitted at 8 pm EDT, prior to the system maintenance window.

Electronic Billing of Secondary Insurance Claims

Dear Users,

Did you know that our software knows when a claim can be sent electronically to the secondary Payer? We maintain a marker in the payer database that states whether a payer accepts secondary claims electronically. When an insurance payment is entered manually or automatically via EOB Auto Apply, and the claim has a secondary payer and there is a remaining balance, the software knows when to set the charge status to “Send to Secondary via Clearinghouse”. If the secondary payer does not accept secondary insurance claims electronically, the software will set the charge status to “User Print and Mail”. Secondary claims can be billed the same day the primary payment is applied, accelerating reimbursement.

Code Scrubbing System Maintainance

This message is to inform you that we will be performing system maintenance related  to the Code Scrubbing 
feature this evening, Friday, February 08, 2013, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., Central Standard Time.
This will prevent any code scrubbing transactions from being processed during the maintenance window.

No other application related functionality will be affected during this maintenance window.

Claims entered during this time will still be saved and processed as normal.

2013 Fee Schedule Information

Dear Admins,

On Wednesday, January 2, 2013, President Obama signed into law the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012.  This new law prevents a scheduled payment cut for physicians and other practitioners who treat Medicare patients from taking effect on January 1, 2013. The new law provides for a zero percent update for claims with dates of service on or after January 1, 2013, through December 31, 2013.  

In order to allow sufficient time to develop, test, and implement the revised Medicare Physician Fee Schedule(MPFS), Medicare claims administration contractors 
may hold MPFS claims with January 2013 dates of service for up to 10 business days (i.e., through January 15, 2013).  

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, (CMS) expects these claims to be released into processing no later than January 16, 2013.  The claim hold should have minimal impact on physician/practitioner cash flow because, under current law, clean electronic claims are not paid sooner than 14 calendar days (29 for paper claims) after the date of receipt.  Claims with dates of service prior to January 1, 2013, are unaffected. 

CMS is currently revising the 2013 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) to reflect the new law's requirements and will be posting the MPFS payment rates on their websites no later than January 23, 2013. Once the new MPFS is available, we will send out a notification with an expected date it will be loaded into the Med Advent system.

Further notification will be provided once the 2013 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) have been loaded and are available in Med Advent.

2013 CPT Codes

Happy Holidays!!

Please note that the 2013 Master AMA CPT Codes License is available.  You can purchase a license at any time during 2013.  The License is non-transferable.

For Billing Services, if you are an ADMIN on all your client accounts, you will only need to purchase one License.

All users that have already purchased the 2012 Master AMA CPT License will still have access to it.  To obtain access, please contact Med Advent Sales at 1-713-893-7860. Or log onto our Portal and fill out the CPT License Order Form. 

Please note:  Use your regular Credentials to log into the User Portal.  As a first-time visitor, it will require registration, but you will not need to secure any new log-in info.
